This collection is based on an old mining town Uravan, Colorado. In 1979 the town was bulldozed, shredded, and buried under layers of concrete. Uravan was razed. Today all that remains are bits of concrete while the landscape appears untouched. This collection looks at the surrounding environment and the transitions that have taken place. Concrete is used as a way to memorialize the town and make the viewer aware that although it appears that Uravan is gone, it is and will always be there

Concrete

Each look as an element of concrete incorporated into the design. I used actual physical concrete along with a custom print I developed in a jacquard woven fabric. This video shows how I applied the concrete to the garments.
